What is it?
At the Pre-Fall 2013 Woman’s Collection you see a lot of coats with a very masculine look; large, long and broad shoulders. And what I found the most striking were these jackets on the pictures. Left is Louis Vuitton and right is Rebecca Minkoff. The jackets have very broad shoulders what looks like male shoulders.
Why is it Cool?
We all know the ‘Power Shoulders’ what we have seen over the last 2 years. But the rest of the clothes with that kind of shoulders were tight, what gives it a real feminine look. But these kind of jackets are wide throughout, what gives it a real masculine look. And broad shoulders are a beauty ideal for men, so this looks like a inverted world. Women with this androgynous look radiates power what is a little feministic :)…
